Contests are divided into three levels, ENTRY, JURY and FINAL.You can only enter a contest at Entry level.
Entry Level contest occurs periodically, up to 7 winners are selected, One from popular votes listing (Votes from all members of Filmaka not submitting in the ongoing contest) and top 3 from the peer – peer votes listing (Votes by all film-makers who have submitted a film in the ongoing contest) and up to 3 are chosen by Filmaka, each is given Rs 20,000 cash prize plus Rs.1 per view that their film gets
during the corresponding month of the contest, up to a maximum of Rs 10,000, that translates to a maximum prize money of Rs. 30,000. They then move into the jury level contest.
At the Jury level contest, all winners from the Entry Level are given Rs.30,000 to make a second clip on the same subject. Two winners are selected. The first winner is given Rs.75,000 cash prize and a runner-up is given a Rs.50,000 cash prize. The winner and runner-up move into the final level. A special Jury prize will also be announced at the Jury level which wins no cash but qualifies to compete in the final contest in addition to the Jury Level winners and runner ups.
The winners, runners up and special jury prize winner from each jury level contests compete for the grand feature film contract in the final level contest, The winner of the final level contest gets a feature film deal and the runner up wins a Rs Eleven Lakhs (Rs 11,00,000) cash prize.
The annual contest is the final contest of all winning jury level films from all periodic contests.
Note: There will be a “Wild Card” competition at the end of the
season where one filmmaker will be selected by member voting, one by Filmaka and one by Jury (Selected by One or two Jury members from our Jury pool). These three winners will be allowed to compete in the Annual Competition. Please note: There is no prize money for the winners of this competition.

• All members are allowed to submit
• Members will be charged Rs. 500* per upload
for the Entry Level Contest.
• Multiple films can be submitted for an additional Rs.500* per submission.

disqualification
• Members
get two points each for every submission made to an
entry level contest, these points can be redeemed
for exciting prizes from the
Stash.
*The upload fee can be waived as a special case. Please
email us with a reason why your submission fee should be waived.
Voting
•
ENTRY level is a peer-to-peer member voting contest.
• Members who have never uploaded any submission to any of our contest are allowed to vote for one entry only. This one vote corresponds to one star rating and will reflect in the popular votes listing from which the top film win.
• Members cannot vote on their own film.
• Members who have uploaded a film in the ongoing contest are obligated to vote on five (5) films with a five (5) star system: will reflect in the peer-peer votes listing from which the top six films win.
» Five (5) being best, four (4) being second best, three (3) being third best, two (2) being fourth best and one (1) being fifth best
» Members must vote on five (5) films in their vote, assigning each film a corresponding star rating as stated above or your vote will be disqualified
• Allowed to vote only on five (5) films per contest using the five (5) star voting system
• If you submit a film, you MUST vote in that contest

Submissions

Voting • JURY level voting is done by the FILMAKA Jury of industry professionals.
• Two films will be chosen
one as JURY level Winner and other as JURY level Runner Up.
• A special Jury Prize, which wins no cash, additionally qualifies to compete in the final contest. |

• If you are a Winner or Runner Up in numerous JURY level contests, you WILL be allowed that many submissions into the FINAL round (e.g. if you are a Winner 3 times and a Runner Up 2 times, you will be allowed 5 submissions into the FINAL level contest).
• Adherence to the terms and conditions and delivery rules is necessary prior to any payment.
*Please Note : The new Jury Level cash prize will be applicable for the Jury Level films made for and after contest #6 "Lost and Found" as the cash prize money was revised after this contest. For the contests previous than Lost and Found the cash prize of Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 for winner and runner-up respectively stays. |

Membership
• If you submit a film, you MUST vote in that contest or your film will be disqualified
• If you do not vote on the obligatory five films, your vote will be disqualified.
• If you do not abide by the terms and conditions, acceptable
content and delivery rules, your film will be disqualified.
• If we cannot contact you, your submission may be disqualified.

Happy New Year!! Just to make sure it is a happy one, Filmaka Brings to you the “Pitch Your Series” Contest. We are looking for the next BIG television show and we are looking to you to develop that next TRP topper.
What is the “Pitch Your TV Series” contest?
“Pitch Your TV Series” is a contest launched by Filmaka to give it’s members a shot at the Television Industry. Many Television Channel executives were impressed by the Filmaka India films and expressed interest in getting Series ideas from Filmaka Members.
How Does it Work?
Develop a TV series Idea and prepare a 5 page pitch statement. Make the statement as detailed as possible with regards to the story idea and the character profiles. Remember this statement is the only parameter on which your idea will be judged so take your time.
Filmaka will select upto 10 winners and each will receive Rs. 20,000 for their pitch statements. These statements will be shown to top television executives for their review. Subject to a network accepting the script, the winner will be given Rs. 1 Lakh to shoot a pilot.
What Genre should the show be?
Drama, Crime, Comedy… absolutely anything. Let your imagination run wild. Speak to the people around you and get a pulse of things.
Till when can I upload the pitch statement?
The “Pitch Your TV series” contest will be on for 30 days and shall end on
9th March 2009.

What is the journal?
The Filmaka journal is a space where creativity runs wild, a one of its kind web space for India that will put Indian Film makers on the world map & on your way to global recognition you could win some brilliant prizes which

The journal is a space, where you can share your ideas, stories and opinions with the world, Talk about your film making experiences, share your concepts or just talk about matters which matter to you and along the way make your journal interesting, relevant and inspirational, and entertain, educate or simply get the world to know you.
Upload an interesting shot no more than
Three Minutes in duration for the world to watch, It could be shot using your cell-phone, your handy cam, could be something interesting you saw, a fantasy, a comedy of sorts, breaking news or a how to trick, spoofs, gags.
Make something interesting, something socially applicable, something
important, something that matters. Note: that this may lead you to
directing your own documentary, so upload something that is of quality
so we at Filmaka can judge your work and commission you to do more
work. Please check the premium shorts section as some of the examples
for what is considered quality films. Filmaka holds the right to
reject the submissions for the journal that we feel are not suitable
to be published on the site or do not reach up to the basic
thresholds of film making.
Members may submit any number of Shorts, pursuant to Paragraph 5 of the
terms and conditions. These films will be viewed and voted by the members. Filmaka will select a fortnightly winner, a runner up and a second runner up,
one of these three winners will be from the top
ten films (votes received from members) and the
other two will be from all the submissions. Winners will receive Points as follows:
Fortnightly winner: 30 Points
Fortnightly runner up: 15 Points
Fortnightly second runner up: 10 Points.

Rules and Regulations:
• All members are
invited to build their journal, there is no
upload fee for uploading films to the journal.
• The length of the video must
not be more than Three Minutes.
• The members must possess all the rights to the
pictures and audio put up on the site. There is
no restriction on the number of pictures, audio
clips or video clips that a member can put up.
• Videos should not be copyright material of
some one else. The member must possess all the
rights to the corresponding films.
• Filmaka holds the rights to withdraw or remove
any content from the Filmaka journal exercising
its discretion.
